Hello there. I am new to the community. Thank you for the add. I have a question. This morning, I received a text from public mobile saying that I had used 75% of my allotted data. When I checked the "usage history" on my laptop this morning, it showed 2 web calls between 12:12 and 12:59 am last night. The trouble is that I was in bed asleep and did NOT make the calls. I also cannot access the web on my phone, (it is a 13 yr old Motorola) and no other similar calls have ever showed up in my usage history, as I cannot and thus do not make them. I am not sure who to contact about this, and what next steps are. Thank you for your help.

You guys are amazing! My apologies once again for sounding so dumb here..I promise that I do have "gifts,"..they just don't involve technology..lol. Really appreciate your time and patience. I was just speaking with a moderator, and they said that I will be switched to the $25 per month plan, and still earn the loyalty and auto pay $, so will be paying $18 per month for the same service I get now, plus some extra "bonus" data, as of April 5th. 🙂

It HAS been determined that @Lilybel is on the $40/30 day plan I believe. But with 5 years loyalty ...has been here a long time... IS it the current 5Gb/30 plan as opposed to some older plan with far less data included? (Could also be a 4G plan?)

All these good questions. 🙂 A moderator just sent me a private msg saying something similar, so we are trying to figure this out. From what I can see when I view "plan details," this is what I have, at a cost of $33 every 30 days, because I earn $5 loyalty and $2 auto pay every month. Hope that is helpful.

There does appear to be a significant spike in data usage around that time, on the graph on my phone. When I click on "Google Play store" (I don't download or play games on my phone) which seems to be the biggest amount, it gives me no specific date, and it does not tell me how or why the data was used, though my wifi is always off, so I am guessing cell data.
This is what I am getting when I log into "data and add ons" on my laptop.

Wifi is always off, mobile hotspot is always off. But a) where do I find the option to turn off data, and b) if I do that, will I still receive pictures that friends send me in their text msgs? Thank you.

@Lilybel could you please check to see if your WiFi may have been inadvertantly turned off? To recap, dato off, mobile hotspot off, data always on off.

I can't seem to find system updates under settings, sorry.
Sorry re phone age..that's what I was told by the person who gave it to me, and never thought I had any reason to verify..clearly I am not the only one confused..lol.
I did find data usage, but I don't know exactly what I am looking for..my apologies.

And also check to see if mobile hotspot is enabled., the data may not have been used by your phone, but a another nearby device

I appreciate your grace, patience and help. It said that there are 17 updates available, but that nothing was updated, and that auto update is turned off. I have the $35 per month plan.

Thank you for your response. Please forgive me for sounding dumb here. I was trying to figure out how to delete this post, because the other post is more detailed, and was written after this post initially told me that there was an "error" and it hadn't posted.
I appreciate the clarifications..this is all new to me. Usually, my phone asks me if I want to update anything, and I have the choice. Yesterday it did not, and wifi was and is always off, so I am a little confused, sorry. I have a 13 year old Motorola.

When I checked my "usage history" on my laptop this morning, (I do not access the internet on my phone) it said that web calls were made at 12:12pm last night, and 12:59 pm last night. It gave no originating phone number, no destination phone number, no time duration, etc. Firstly, I was in bed asleep and did NOT make any web calls. Secondly, how could the notification about data usage come 2 hrs BEFORE the first call was supposedly made? Thirdly, no similar notifications have EVER come to me in the past - I have been with Public Mobile for several years, and my phone is a 13 year old Motorolla, so I do not ever make any web calls on it. I am not sure who to contact about this, what next steps are, and how to prevent this from happening again. Thank you in adavnce for any help that you can provide. 🙂
