Data says used up but I only used 300Mb according to my phone

I have the $25 dollar plan which gives me 500Mb plus 500Mb for auto pay, and I got a message saying I used all my data but if I open my data usage on my phone I've only used 300Mb in the last 30 days. Why is this happening?

You device is properly defaulted to a month's usage of data. 

Public Mobile are 30 day (or 90 for grandfathered) plans.

 

So if you are depending on your device to provide accurate usage, you will need to adjust the date each time it renews. Screen shot below of an example of a device usage/warning:

DATA on phone and setting same as PM dates

 

OR @TheGx posts get the Data Witness app (only for ANDROID USERS). I use it. It is simple, but it works great!

 

If you are an Apple user I am sure they have apps you can download to customize for 30 day plans.

@Matt7 hi is your data still working? sometimes that message gets sent in error go by what it says in your self serve in data and add on section

The PM data tracker is usually fairly accurate.  Is your phone data tracker synced to the PM 30 day billing cycle.  Most phone trackers are on monthly cycles, while PM billing cycles are 30 days.  

 

You could check your data usage in your self service account to check your data usage the last 30 days.  

 

It is not common, but sometimes, the data counter does not reset after a payment data.

Are you certain your phone's data counter is going back a FULL 30 days and not to February 1?  Most seem to show month to date usage which may not coincide with your Public Mobile cycle.

 

You can always search your Usage History on self-serve and count through the days since your last renewal date, counting up the Data recorded.   

 

If using your phone's data counter, best to remember to reset the counter on the date of each renewal so when referring to it, it's from the date of the recent renewal.
