The PM data tracker is usually accurate. It does not show live data usage, but averages the data over 1-2 readings per 24 hour period. Is your phone tracker in sync with your 30 day Public mobile payment cycle?
You don't have to worry about somebody using your SIM card. If that is the case, your calling and texting will not be working.
1GB data is not much these days. Your phone may use minimal background data for various reasons also even though you turned data off.
