Data Issues

Thrillho
Great Neighbour / Super Voisin

I am having trouble with my data.

I recently got a new phone and the data was working fine on it until one day it stopped working.  I thought maybe it was an issue with the phone, but I moved my SIM card to my old phone to see if the data would work and it is not working on my old phone either.  I hate that there is no customer service number I can call for issues like this.

I input the proper APN. The se as my old phone. I still have half of my data to use this month and I have definitely paid for my month of service. I'm set up on Auto pay. No issues there.

Not sure if anyone else is having a problem with their data? I can make calls and text no problem. It's just my data that is not working. I have tried every trick in the book. It seems to be on public mobile's end, but I don't know who to contact about it.

I might have to go with a new cell phone provider.

Which sucks because I just got a text from public mobile letting me know I am getting 1 free GB of data for being a loyal customer. That free GB is no help to me, if I can't use it

Hope someone can give me some advice on how to get the data working again.

Thank you!

As others have mentioned double check via selfserve to make sure you still have data available.

@Thrillho also, note that the free 1GB add-on you got a text about likely isn't on your account yet.  I believe they are adding them to our accounts on or after Sept 4th.  More here:  https://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/Announcements/Showing-some-love-to-our-customers-with...

@Thrillho From what you describe it sounds like you have used up you data allowance. Maybe when you got your new phone it downloaded a series of updates using your data.

As others have mentioned double check via selfserve to make sure you still have data available.

Make sure in your phone's settings that your cellular data is turned on.

Check the apn settings on your phone are:

APN Settings:
Name: Mobile Internet
APN: sp.mb.com
Proxy: Not set
Port: Not set
Username: Not set
Password: Not set
Server: Not set
MMSC: http://aliasredirect.net/proxy/mb/mmsc
MMS proxy: 74.49.0.18
MMS port: 80
MCC: 302
MNC: 220
Authentication type: Not set
APN type: default,mms,agps,supl,fota,hipri,dun
APN protocol: IPv4
APN roaming protocol: IPv4
APN enable/disable: APN enabled
Bearer: Unspecified
MVNO type: GID
MVNO value: 4D4F

If not, then you could try to put your phone in airplane mode for 15 minutes and turn back on, see if that makes a difference.

If none of the above worked and you put the sim in another phone and you still did not have data, then you should send a private message to moderator to report the problem through the following link :

It takes aprox 48-72 hours for a reply (2-3 days).

Have you tried the lost/stolen trick?

Login to self serve - Plan & add-ons - Lost/Stolen phone - Suspend service.
Logout and wait a few minutes then login and select found phone.
This will not blacklist your phone.

 @Thrillho

Check under My Data & Add-ons to see if your data counter is there. If it's not then you've used it all.

You could buy data add-ons or change plan or need the mods to renew early.

First things first...log into My Account to ensure you haven't used up all your data already...then let us know.
