I just swapped recently
had physical sims with bell, after doing the application and setup with the eSIM it gave a notification to add the sim to device (otherwise you can scan a QR code in your email they sent) once done that and the app does the rest of the setup it took my iPhone maybe five minutes for it to switch over from providers.
i did have emergency services still on the physical sim but no call or data.
I removed the physical sim and rebooted the iPhone and it worked with no issues getting service for text/iMessage and calls
You could try going into the network settings and make sure the that the line is turned on and that your number shows just beneath it as well additionally ensure that data is turned on there as well and you network selection is set to automatic additionally if you did your transfer similar to mine with a physical sim to eSIM do ensure you remove that and reboot (good idea to reboot the phone anyway)
edit: sorry inside cellular setting on iPhone; tap “cellular data options” ensure that inside there you have 5g auto or LTE selected and data mode set to standard.
