@PM_5G Specific to Point Roberts, I generally find the coverage to be abysmal over there. I get better Telus reception than US reception, but even that barely connects in many places. It does depend where you are if course. On the beach is better.

Did you end up figuring out the issue?
Samsung S22 Ultra 5G - South of the BC Border in Bellingham and Pt. Roberts
Automatic Network Operator and 5G worked!(Manual Network Selection did not!)
Public shows as Carrier with an R on Signal Meter(Roaming)
What I Did/Checked:
Make sure you are currently subscribed to the US/Can Plan
Make sure you have selected Public's SIM or eSIM
Phone must be VoLTE Capable (For Making Calls)
FIRST Reboot Your Phone if and when phone plan changes! (Public Mobile Updates your phone's settings)
Data Roaming MUST Be Enabled(Leave it Enabled - PM is Prepaid so there are never Roaming Fees)
Network Operators - Auto
Network Mode can be switched to 5G/LTE or LTE(4G)
Android Settings Location for these settings:
Settings / Connections / Mobile Networks / Data Roaming
Settings/Connections/Network Operators - Select Automatically
Settings/Connections/Mobile Networks/Network Mode - Select 5G or LTE(4G)
Manually Selecting T-Mobile or AT&T DID NOT work for me(Got Network Not Found Error)
Some have had luck manually selecting T-Mobile or AT&T
AT&T 5G as Network Mode has not worked apparently only LTE.

I agree that it is tricky in Blaine. Only time I am in Blaine is to pickup mail and parcels at my postbox.
Most of the time I use the TextNow SIM while in am across the line with similar issues on T-Mobile network.

@BKNS27 Blaine is a bit tricky because you're right along the border, so still hovering between Canadian and US coverage. I'm never usually in Blaine long enough to test it well. Usually it takes 5-10 minutes before my phone connects to the US towers when I drive across. I'm generally driving so I don't play with it. I'm sure resetting the phone would speed it up.

I have issue when I am in Blaine when I am connected to T-Mobile but not Bellingham.

@Fi121 - Try manually connecting to T-Mobile or AT&T and setting it to 4G / LTE.
Also turn on data roaming.
If nothing use T-Mobile and connect to 2G / GSM.

I drive across into Bellingham a couple times a month, and coverage is great. You likely need to change some settings in the Network Settings on your phone:
1) Turn data roaming on
2) Set your Preferred Network to 4G vs 5G (5G AT&T doesn't work)
3) Ensure you're connected to T-Mobile or AT&T
That should get you going for text and data. For phone calls you'll want to ensure your device is on Public Mobile's VoLTE whitelist, as the US doesn't have a 3G network to fall back to for phone calls:

Critical part to US roaming depends on T-Mobile/AT&T coverage and whether you can connect successfully onto either network.
If the phone is not connecting to T-Mobile/AT&T, change the Network Connection from Automatic to Manual and select and test both T-Mobile and AT&T and see which one you can connect.
If your issue is with data, make sure your Roaming Mobile data is enabled and you have disabled your mobile data limiter. Also change your network mode to 4G (and don't try 5G until you can connect and works on 4G)
If your issue is with voice, make sure VoLTE is enabled on the device setting. And if it does not work, try to change the Network to T-Mobile ONLY, and change Preferred Network Type or Network Mode to 2G and see if the calls go through.
Also, you can download VoIP app TextNow as a workaround to make calls and text if you have Wifi or if your roaming has data component and data is working
