I need a new phone.

I was looking at the Samsung a22, all I can find is the international model. Will that work on public mobile?

Thanks for the help!

Thank you for the input. I have yet to order a phone thankfully, still searching for one within my budget.

I would avoid it if you have not make the order yet.

A22 is not a Canadian model.  It will work but it wasn't designed specifically for Canada market

this are the frequencies the phone has and BOLD are the compatible ones

3G bands HSDPA 850 / 900 / 2100
4G bands 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 20, 28, 38, 40, 41

and these are the bands used here:

Please note any phone should ideally have 3G B2, B5 and LTE B4 (or B66 instead of B4), B12 (or B17 instead of B12) for minimum coverage.

You phone will work, but won't work great.  there could be some reception issue due to lack of compatible bands

If you can change your order for a phone more compatible with PM network, I would pick another one

But if you have the phone already, put a PM SIM there and test it out yourself.

Public Mobile uses the following frequency bands:

  • 4G LTE and LTE Advanced: 700 MHz, 850 MHz, 1900 MHz and 2100 MHz downlink and 1700 MHz uplink (AWS).
  • HSPA: 850 MHz, 1900 MHz (UMTS).
