As mentioned in other posts, a PM customer cannot switch to a lower priced subscription. This is a business strategy that does not make sense to me. I want to "downgrade" to a cheaper plan with less data but since I cannot do that, I will be switching to another cell provider where I can purchase a cheaper plan. So PM would rather lose me as a customer rather than let me switch to a cheaper plan???? Wow!! I guess they are not worried about customer retention. Must be nice to be running a company that does not need to retain its customer base!!

I agree. I was on a (very) low data plan and temporarily increased my gb thinking I could switch back. I now have no option but to switch to another provider.

Correct. PM is assuming you won't switch to save $5/month.

While I was able to successfully downgrade from a $39/68 GB to a $27/20 GB plan in May 2025, not everyone’s personalized offers will enable a similar savings
Agree that the current biz model is a bit flawed but every Canadian cellular provider seems to offer a different pricing strategy these days

There isn't any such rule that Public Mobile customers cannot switch to lower priced plans. It is true that some customers won't have any lower price plans to switch to, each customer has specific plans offered and in some/many cases, there are lower priced plans available.

hi @TomKnez
please remember downgrade is not un-doable but depends on your current profile and the downgrade choices will come and go
What plan you have now and what plan you are planning to go with?
