Changing Phone Number

GaryDEddy
Great Neighbour / Super Voisin

I have an active Bell account, with a physical sim card. I created a PM account with an e-sim to try out the service, wasn't sure it would work well in my remote location but it does. Now I want to cancel my Bell but I want to keep the number. How do I change my current PM account to use my old phone number?

here's some reading to help...just don't cancel your old account....

  1. Sign in to the Public Mobile app or My Account
  2. Navigate to ‘Account’.
  3. Select ‘Transfer Phone Number’.
  4. Input the phone number you wish to transfer to Public Mobile.
  5. Provide the required details:
    • The name of your former service provider.
    • Your phone’s IMEI number or your previous provider's account number.
    • An alternate contact number.

Note: Your old service provider might send a validation SMS. Please follow the instructions within 90 minutes to confirm the transfer.

While most transfers are completed within 1 hour, it could take up to 5 hours for your transfer to complete (or up to 3 business days for landline transfers). If your transfer does not complete within 5 hours, please contact a Customer Support Agent.

AND...once you reply YES within 90 mins, keep the old sim in the cell until it stops working...then remove it. You should be good to go then.
