@Danny2005 changing number or changing carrier? porting into PM or porting out?
For changing carrier with porting, generally your current (old) account has to be active to port out. Get the account number of the current provider
Then get a new sim card for the new provider
Activate and port at the same time, provide account number as porting info
Wait for text from old provider and reply YES to the text.
Once replied, you can put the new sim card or the new provider and reboot every 15 mins until you get incoming calls on new sim card
But if changing phone number on PM, just login My Account and request Change Sim card

if you have set your credit card to Auopay your PM account...disable Autopay.
Your PM acct will close down for good, once you successfully port out to new provider.

Are you attempting to port in to Public Mobile ?
