2. You should see on top of your mobile phone "Public Mobile", stating that you have ported to PM.

The network indicator saying that you're connected to the Public Mobile network is unrelated to number porting.  Assuming the Public Mobile SIM card is being used, this would say Public Mobile even porting wasn't yet complete and even if number porting failed.

@Pennyj  hi, a good indicator is if you are able to receive and answer incoming calls and get texts messages.

That isn't too good of an indicator because all text messages from other Telus customers will go to the Public Mobile phone even if porting hasn't completed.  Also, that's also the case some of the time for calls from other Telus customers (that didn't used to be the case years ago though).

hi @Pennyj

Assuming you're transferring to PM.

1. Insert the PM SIM card (or use eSIM) and verify that you can make calls/receive calls / send text/receive text.

2. You should see on top of your mobile phone "Public Mobile", stating that you have ported to PM.

If everything is working properly and you can make calls/text/data then your # was ported successfully.

Hope that helps,

Best.
