Outbound texts are showing in my usage history, but no one I send them to are receiving them. Likewise, I do not receive texts that others have sent me. How can I fix this? I transferred my number to Public Mobile from Virgin Mobile today.

I turned it off and removed the SIM card for a minute, then turned it back on, if that's what you mean.
Yes, what number is showing in your settings--> System -->About Phone?
The number I've always had, that I transferred to public mobile.
If you put in your old sim does it still work? If yes, the it means the port is not !00% done on the Virgin side.

@matt4411Stick in your old sim card, from your old provider and use that until it stops working, then you know the port is completed. At the moment, your calls and texts are still being routed to your old provier. Public mobile has set your outgoing number to the old number, but in terms of everywhere else, your old phone is still the active one

How many people have this issue, how many people tried to text you?Yes, I just activated today, 3-4 hours ago. Yes, I just ported my number. Incoming calls do not appear to be working, I get a busy signal when I call my mobile with my home phone. The people who are unable to text me are also unable to call me. At least one person tried to text me.
It appears only outgoing calls work.
@matt4411Ok, this was the key piece of information. Since you said calls were working before I ruled out the porting process. Their texts are still going to your old sim card from your old provider. It takes some time, every hour or so remove your battery / restart your phone. It can take time on your first port over and there can be weird issues for a short period of time. Usually hours for cell phones, sometimes days for voip/land line.
If the issue continues you may have a partially completed port but most often ports just take a bit longer. One of the moderators can take a look, see if they need to do something to move it along. Click this to send them a message

I am having the exact same issues. Cannot send or recieve SMS messages, or make calls. I sent messages to the moderators over 2 hours ago and no one has replied. I haven't been able to use my phone in two days. It sometimes connects and then stops connecting.

I don't know how to clear my messenger app data/cache. Yes, I am using the stock messenger. I'm using a Xiaomi Mi A1 on Android 9. I have tried rebooting my phone. When I log into self serve, it shows my texts in usage history. What is "self-serve"? When I log into my public mobile account on the website, I can see the text messages I sent in my usage history.
@matt4411Okay, if they are showing up in the public mobile account (self-serve) both incoming and outgoing, then it sounds like a network issue and I suggest sending a message to the moderator team. Click this to send them a message. and letting them know your texts are not being delivered or received but show up under usage history. I know there is some trick they can use to "reset" your sms so hopefully that fixes it.
Incoming texts from others are not showing up in usage history, just outgoing texts I send to others and incoming texts I send to myself.

@matt4411Is your phone set up to send SMS as MMS, and maybe your mobile data / apn is not configured? The SMSC number for Public Mobile is 16475800172. Make sure you input that number into your message center option on your phone. Depending on your phone... Messaging=>Settings=>Text(SMS) Messages=> SMSC Setting. Then input 16475800172
I don't know if my phone is set up to send SMS as MMS. My APN is configured, as far as I can tell; the settings are the same as the APN settings I found on this site. I can't find SMSC settings.

@matt4411Is it just SMS? Are you able to send MMS? How is your calling/data? Does texting yourself work? Have you tried inserting your sim in a different phone? When you send a message, does it say "sending/failed" or does it appear to send?
