I would like to know if I'll be refunded (mostly) for the month as I've decided to switch back to my original provider.

Sorry, you won't get refund or partial refund as PM is a prepaid provider
Best to wait and stay with PM until end of this cycle and switch back to your old orchid. But remember to leave 3 to 4 days for porting

Public Mobile is a prepaid service, not post paid. Therefore there will be no refunds. I'd suggest you contact your old provider and tell them you're willing to come back if they give you a credit to cover what you paid for the PM plan. You never know what they'd say.
Just know, if you plan on porting your number from Public Mobile, your account must be active to port.
