I am assuming When you say cancel your number… you mean you don’t wait service from PM.
The quickest way to close your account is to port your number to another carrier and your account will automatically close or stop payment and will automatically close after 90 days.
Or do you mean you want to change your existing number?

this is how it supposed to be done easier
if you like, you can open a ticket with PM and ask them to formally close the account
Simply open ticket with PM using the Orange Chatbot icon on the lower right. (For 2FA code when login, use email to receive code instead of SMS if you cannot receive the text on the phone.) When open Chatbot ticket, Type the question Submit ticket and select Contact Us to get to ticket open screen
But if you have trouble using Chatbot to open ticket, then message PM using this link:

Why would I cancel as non payment, it needs to be cancelled instead of non oayment

To close your account just login to your account and disable Subscribe (AutoPay) and your account will be closed after 90 days for nonpayment.
