Can't send messages but can receive.

Using a Google Pixl 5, issue started roughly 2 weeks ago, I can receive messages from any phone, but cannot send. When I send, it says "Not sent, tap to try again"(won't send however many times I tap) , restarted phone, took out/put back sim, switched main sms app from google messages to FB and back. Calls and Data working fine, no clue what's going on. Any help appreciated!

Are your Chat Features enabled, if so, turn them off.

Turn Off Chat Features

1. From a Home screen, tap Messages .
2. Tap the Menu icon .
3. Tap Settings.
4. Tap Advanced.
5. Tap Chat features.
6. Tap Enable chat features to turn off .

Also try:

• Ensure you have the latest software installed on your phone.
• Uninstall the messages app, then reinstall it.

Maybe try a network reset of phone.

Also, try the SIM card in another working phone.  Helps determine whether hardware issuer versus PM service problem.

Are you using android RCS messaging?  If so, turn that option off.  Just use SMS or MMS messaging.
