Sudden calling issues on Public Mobile can be incredibly frustrating, assuming your data and texting might still be working perfectly fine.
Since there are no major nationwide network outages right now, a sudden drop in calling is almost always caused by a VoLTE/network sync glitch, a payment sync error, or a localized cell tower disconnect.
Let's walk through the quickest ways to troubleshoot this and get your dialer working again.
The 10-Minute Airplane Rule: Don't just toggle it quickly. Turn Airplane Mode ON and leave it on for a full 10 consecutive minutes. This forces the Public Mobile backend network switch to officially flag your device as "disconnected." When you turn it off, the network is forced to rebuild your voice profile from scratch.
Reset Network Settings: Go to your phone’s settings menu and perform a network reset. (Note: This wipes out saved Wi-Fi passwords, but it completely flushes corrupted cellular routing data).
The SIM Reseat: Turn your phone completely off, physically remove your SIM card (or toggle your eSIM profile off/on if using digital), wait 30 seconds, and put it back in.
Also, by dialling 611 from your phone, you can confirm your account is paid up to date.
And finally, please inform the community which phone you're using as it now may be outdated with the loss of the 3G network in most of Canada.
