Can't link my voicemail number to the voicemail icon iPhone 6

Hi, just signed up for PM.  Voicemail works when I dial my number but doesn't call my voicemail form the icon.  I'm on a iphone 6. Any suggestions?

1) no need to contact the moderator team--this was already resolved quite some time before you replied.

-> There should also be a way to do it using the phone settings.
