I cannot receive the text from u.s. Does it mean I need to turn on u.s. roaming services? Otherwise, is there anyway to receive the text in Canada?

You can r/s text in Canada, but turn on US roaming when you travel in there.

@Monanana if your just activated with Public Mobile some short codes can take up to one week to find your account.
So if this is your situation maybe give it more time until you try again.

Is it a short code that is sending? Not a 10 digit number?
Do you have the option to receive an email and/or a text?

Depends on what service they are using to send out verification text messages. Likely they are restricting to US only. Contact them and ask if they send text messages to any number outside of the US.
Bingo. This is the right answer.
I know of a Canadian bank that recently enabled 2FA via SMS and they only support numbers in Canada. So those customers in the US with US numbers face the same dilema.

Depends on what service they are using to send out verification text messages. Likely they are restricting to US only. Contact them and ask if they send text messages to any number outside of the US.

in the u.s. bank your canadian number in system? you have in bank other number chcek it. and you Activated new line? if yes then it's take from 3 to 7 business days to system reactance your number.

Leave your phone as is. You should be able to receive a text from any where while you are in Canada. If you have an iPhone....that applies to iMessages too.
Can you tell us more about how it is sent to you? Location, carrier, phone type.

you don't need to do anything if your plan has Unlimited/International Text and Picture Messaging.

Is the other part using a US carrier or purchased a US Roaming if they are using a Canadian carrier?
