Does anyone know if Public Mobile has a call screener similar to telus? The idea is a caller not familiar to you must enter a number from 1 to 10 before proceeding. It knocks out the robocalls to zero.

My android phone is doing a great job. It filters 99% of spam calls and text massage. I'm happy with that solution. The rest goes through and my phone is ringing as usual. No need for screening with an android phone (usually) in my case.

HI @Rvscotty
if you keep your contacts on your phone well, then use Silent unknown caller on iPhone or Block unknown/private numbers on Android. Anyone not on your contact list will be routed to Voicemail and you can decide to call back or not

This is a free feature that both koodo and Telus offers. You have to sign up for it. Its called Call Control. On paper it's great but for me, it only worked for 2 days. My friends and family had to enter the number provided by the system before my phone would ring. But it wasn't reliable. When I called koodo to inquire, they saw it was activated, but couldn't explain why it was not working.

The problem with blocked calls from unknown callers that is k no it on your contact list. If the is a call from a doctor’s…it will block it.
Also spammers will spoof someone else’s number so their real number is hidden.

I never heard of that but they should make it mandatory for all cell phone companies to use. It would stop so many spam and scamers from calling at least for a while

If you have an iPhone, you can set it on Silence Unknown Callers.
I tried the Truecaller app but didn’t have any luck with it. It would take forever to go to the app before get my calls and texts.

That call blocking feature at Koodo only worked for me the first 2 days. After that it didn't work anymore. I used it for one month then I removed it. PM doesn't have this feature.

sorry @Rvscotty , PM is a tier 3 provider and they only provide basic service features, no Call Screening feature for PM. You have to rely on your device's spam filter service
