Call Forwarding "Not Reachable" Not Working

Hi Folks, I've been testing Call Forwarding Up and I feel like I must be missing something

The other 3 options work as expected

• Always Forward: Works perfectly 
• When Busy: Forwards when I decline a call
• When Unanswered: Forwards when I don't answer a call rather than going to my VM

However, I can't seem to get "When unreachable" to work, my understanding of this setting is that it will trigger when the phone is offline / airplane mode / turned off. However when I call it in this setting I hear the normal amount of rings I'd expect, then it goes to my VM.

I've tried activating from both the "Calling Accounts" -> Settings -> Call forwarding on the phone, and the dial code ( Dial * 62 * + ten-digit phone number + '#' + SEND ) as per the the help (https://www.publicmobile.ca/en/ab/get-help/articles/call-forwarding)

I think it might have something to do with the fact that even offline, the incoming line still rings as normal, and it's not directly failing / going to VM like I'd normally expect it to do with an offline phone.

Anyone have any thoughts? 

Not the end of the world, just would like to be able to setup call forwarding that only triggers when my phone is off network (Bad service area / travelling) since in those cases I'll probably have either a roaming SIM or WIFI.

It's like they are trying to defeat any work around for the lack of wifi calling.

I just wanted to say that mine has also stopped working, however, what's odd is that my husband's is still working. We have the same setup for unreachable to be forwarded to a defunct number to reject and discourage spammers. 

Edit: I should add that my "busy" forwarding still works. Odd.

@MikeCDN - Yes, that was what I was trying to do a couple days ago, but I am am sometimes in a building that blocks cell reception so I now just use my iPhones own call forwarding system that still works when no signal to forward to my Text Now (VoIP) number.

It did work once but then decided to quit working. Would be beneficial to have VoWi-Fi (Wi-Fi Calling) on Public Mobile.

Thanks for the info @fixin that's pretty depressing but glad it's not just me.

Thinking I might just set it to "When Unanswered" since the VOIP will give me a second attempt to answer... and will still go to my regular VM if I decline... 

But still not ideal.

@MikeCDN - Call forwarding when unreachable has been broken since VoLTE. ( @dust2dust ) I have got it to work ONCE only this year but nothing else.
