CAN-US Plan; Data unreliable in US?

qlemon

Hello,

I have the CAN-US plan and have traveled on 5-7 day long trips to the US twice now. It seems like the data works really well for the first 2 days and then data simply does not work or is extremely slow. Does anyone else have this problem? I am really considering going to freedom or another alternative; it sucks being stranded with no data when I'm trying to order an uber or look at google maps.

Thanks

I did everything @DennyCrane just mentioned and everything worked instantly. 5G on T mobile seems to work flawlessly but AT&T does not. No idea why. LTE vs 5G has shown me no difference in my experience.

First hand experience here (many times), AT&T 5G does not work. As suggested, set your phone to 4G/LTE as your preferred network (not 5G) and that should solve your problem.

@qlemon  As @SusanC2  said, make sure you are on 4G/LTE because if you connect to AT&T's 5G it's apparently not reliable.

I found it much more reliable when I was in the US to change my settings from 5G Auto to LTE.  Once I was on LTE it was much better.

@qlemon  Be sure to have network set to T mobile or AT&T and ensure you have data roaming turned on in phone settings
