Hey, I've been on Public for a while, but decided to order a new SIM card because I was just using a cut down micro for my nano slot-- seemed rather sketchy. Unfortunately, I switched SIMs on the account before I noticed that the new SIM doesn't work, and it seems that I'm not the only one. I've tried it on three different unlocked phones, as well as tried SIMs of other providers on the phones in question. The Public SIM is never recognized, and definitely a dud.
Is there anything to do except order another SIM card and hope that it's not bad? Is there any way to switch back to the old SIM, or is that just deactivated?
Thanks for any help.

@Tyler21 glad to hear your replacement SIM is good and you are up and running. Welcome, finally, to PM! 🙂

@Tyler21 Well welcome aboard at last. Service is usually great once you are up and running.
If you are a bit paranoid, as I am, you could make a note of the expiry date showing in your account. Then check that day all is well with your account, and of course that service is uninterrupted.

Hey, I was without a phone for I believe just over a week from receiving bad sim cards, just got mine in the mail today and I'm now finally up and running. Hopefully the service is excellent from here on out lol.

Thanks for the update, if it says no service meaning the phone is able to read the SIM but obviously there is no service 😉
Thanks,
Shazia

My latest SIM arrived 6 days after ordering and seems fine; shows "No Service" when installed in unlocked phone.

Hello @zelara,
I'm really sorry to hear about this,
I will definitely look into this for you. Would it be possible to private message me with your Public Mobile phone number and both SIM card number (please specify new and old).
Thanks,
Shazia

Thank you for the response. I suspected there was little I could do about the broken SIM.
Can someone confirm whether my old SIM is completely deactivated? Ideally, I'd be able to switch back to the old SIM while I wait for PM to mail me a new one, but I think it's out of service.

Hi. Unfortunately, as far as I know, if a Sim is defective, nothing can be done to make it work. If batch was defective, PM should look into whether they have some bad apples, sometimes it happens
