Is automatic payment optional or imposed ? When signing up for a plan, the last paragraph under the heading of Automatic payment gives the impression that it's not optional.

It is optional. Of course to PM, they want everyone to go Autopay so they can expect the inflow for money 🙂
and it is also good for you as well, you save $2 per month. Easy money for doing nothing 🙂

@Lawrence2 While autopay is optional, however, it really is to your advantage to activate autopay to receive the $2 discount every payment date.
You just need to register a CC or Debit Visa/MC and enable autopay but still can pay by vouchers if you prefer. As long as the funds are in your account before the payment date, the system will take your payment from your balance first and will only need to debit your payment card if there's not enough funds in your account.
