Hi,
I see this question answered many times, but I do not know how do I access the answers.
I presently have my public mobile Sim in my iPhone. I am considering an Apple Watch. Can I get data from public mobile to support my Apple Watch being away from my phone?

Only a few carriers in Canada support Apple Watch cellular service and Public Mobile is not of them. You would need to use Telus (which owns Public Mobile), Freedom, Bell, Virgin, Sasktel or Rogers.
You can learn more here:

@dennisedge your data on your plan can definitely be used on your iPhone. If not enough, you can buy extra data addon

@softech I barley make any calls anyway (even on the phone).

@Camera4617 well said
I also wonder how often I need to make a call on my watch only. 🙂

While having a cell plan on AppleWatch sounds cool (I do have apple watch for the last 5 years), think twice is that really necessary and worth paying extra service (usually 10$ per month). How often you will be without your phone that you need to use it. I generally always have phone with me and maybe, but just maybe would be without if I go for a run and don't want to carry phone. However, even then I do need some music and while you can store some on AppleWatch, that is quite limited. So, just think well before committing to extra service.

Assuming that you only have Public Mobile for mobile service, this device could only be used over Wi-Fi or while paired to another device with cell service via bluetooth or hotspot.

No. PM does not support eSIM.
