Another eSIM porting issue

OnyxOttawa
Great Neighbour / Super Voisin

Hi there, wondering if anybody can help out. I recently ported into Public from Rogers. The port seemed to go well (e.g. I answered YES, rebooted phone when asked, etc.). I do have service now so that is good; however, the temporary number I was assigned by Public still remains on my phone under the SIMs list, after the port. I am unable to change it, and it seems to be affecting my iMessage. I have reset network settings multiple times and it is still showing the old number. I am using an iPhone 11.

Any suggestions are welcomed!

Thanks for the suggestions - still stuck though!

The Rogers sim does NOT work and I removed it from the phone.

I (perhaps foolishly) didn't port directly when I signed up, I ported the next day; that number that I selected when signing up for Public is the one that still shows up on my phone.

@OnyxOttawa - Does your Rogers Wireless SIM still work? If so, go here: Messages

That is where you will find the porting number.

Also, make sure that you sent the port request with your rogers e-sim, not your PM one. That is what I did with my secondary line & had to get it initiated again.

HI @OnyxOttawa

if you request porting during activation, there is no temporary number assigned by PM.  From beginning the PM account is using your own number (going to port from Rogers).  Until the port is done, both Rogers and PM line has the same number

since you are using iPhone, easiest way is to remove Rogers sim card if physical, or disable "Turn on  this line" on Roger esim and enable "Turn on this line" on PM esim.  Please also make sure PM esim is now set as Primary

Reboot phone and try again
