I tried to switch my phone number to public mobile yesterday but missed the 90 minute timeline for responding to the text from my old provider. I need public mobile to initiate the activation but I can’t seem to get a hold of anyone! I purchased an eSIM and it says “eSIM cannot be activated”. Is there a phone number I can call?

@ChelanScott: Just to let you know for future reference, Public Mobile don't have any contact numbers. Help is usually given through this forum (by other users just like you) as well as you can contact the staff through direct message as Handy1 pointed out below. So certain things need a bit more time to clarify as you don't get to talk to a person directly. However the community is pretty quick to respond.
