it has been over 3 hours and I have not rec'd my SMS message so that i can switch from my old sim card to the new Public one

Your account with the old carrier must be active to port over. If you cancelled your service with them, you can’t port over and won’t receive the text.

@dpinto it could be a problem on your old provider side. Try reboot your phone
