@Mperrin - check your email and search for 'public mobile'. When you activated the SIM card there should have been an activation email sent out to you. This email should have had your account number in the TO line of the email.

No account = no account number
You need to activate your account. Write down and save all passwords, pin numbers and security questions for future use.
