Abysmal Speed on 5G (Vancouver Fairview/Mt. Pleasant)

Been a public mobile user for years but over the past 3-5 months the data has become horrendously slow. iPhone 14 Pro Max user; reset network settings, tried in different areas but the speed is consistently unusable. A recent speed test showing 6mbps and taking the full 30s test limit on fast.com was painful to even sit through.

What happened to the 100+ mbps speeds I used to get?

Thanks for your advice. The network reset on the carrier side seems to have made an improvement.

@calvinkcheng

Try resetting your network connection on your phone and rebooting your phone.

Try different speed test.

Open a ticket with a customer agent and get them to reset the network connection on their end.

After they fix the problem, request a bill credit for your service issue. You should get compensation for service that you paid for. Good luck.

I don’t think there’s any excuse for a Telus backed network to have this level of service degradation in  the core of Vancouver.

hi @calvinkcheng

could be an issue in the neighborhood.  But did you try 4G or LTE? 4G/LTE can have speed as good as 5G.
