I’m currently Fido user and want to switch to Public Mobile. I have SIM card for Fido number and just wondering which option I should select either eSIM or I already have a SIM card.

You will need a new sim card. If your phone supports esim you can select that. Otherwise you will need to get a new public mobile sim card.

if your phone has esim , esim is a good option. It is free now and free replace
if you phone does not support esim or you prefer the old way, the go to a Telus or Koodo store and buy a Public Mobile sim card. Good thing is you can quickly move sim from phone to phone.

@Ryoichi, SIM cards are specific for the cell phone companies they are from, you cannot reuse them when switching to another company.
If you do not want to wait for the potentially long delivery dates (up to 3 weeks) from Public Mobile, other options are to purchase a SIM card from Amazon.ca for $5 and free shipping with Prime account, should take only a few days to arrive, OR you can visit a local TELUS/Koodo or Mobile Klinik store near you and pick up a SIM card for $10.

No the Fido SIM will not work on PM unless the SIM is a PM SIM. You need to download the PM app on your phone then pick the plan you want to port your Fido number over to PM. Currently PM SIM and eSIM are free with need activation. Note that SIM may take from 10 business days to 3 weeks to arrive.
You may want to check if your phone is eSIM compatible. Most new phones 2023/2024 are eSIM compatible.
What is the make and model of your phone?

Fido SIM cards cannot be used at Public Mobile. You will need a Public Mobile SIM card. Whether selecting eSIM or a physical SIM card would depend on the capabilities of your device while a Public Mobile physical SIM card would need to be mailed.
