you will actually be on the LTE network just throttled to what they are labelling as 4G

No, you do not need new SIM and all rewards and add-ons with stay on your account.
Do change plan on next renewal so you do not overpay for your service.

Just change the plan using Change plan now or Change on next renewal date. The new speed will come within 48 hours of the plan change
