3G Service

Anyone tried the 2.5 Mbps service yet?

Will it only work on HSPA, or can you go onto LTE if the signal is better (or there is no HSPA)?

That's sounds about right, we've experienced much the same in our testing.

I'm in the Toronto area (North York specifically) and get 2.72Mbps down and 2.47Mbps up quite consistently when commutting around the area.

LTE is throttled that's why they might want to use unthrottled 3G. I believe it's a bug, so not sure how long it'll last.

Probably to save some data.

If someone is on LTE why would they wanna try 3G?

I have tried it with an iPhone 5: 2.7 download; 0.5 upload; 61 ms latency. Slightly (40%) faster with LTE turned off.

If you are on LTE, it will be throttled at 2.5mbps. But if you prefer to use the actual 3G speed, you can use that as well.

The latency times I've seen on speedtests posted here appear to suggest data is going through LTE with 2.5Mbps downstream cap and a very low upstream.
