I searched the threads but didn't see a clear answer.
What's the diff between these two 4g plans other than an extra 30 gigs? Is there a catch?
Currently on $39 @ 20GB with max. monthly loyalty reward of $5/mo.

Just to close the loop.
Went with Change on Renewal, no issues, and now on 50GB $39 plan. Thanks for all the responses.

Thanks for the tip. I will consider that.
For an extra buck guess you can't go wrong really though if I get to 60 gigs + usage I'll eat my hat. I'm a pretty light user.
I may opt to change at renewal to avoid the slight hassle of delayed reward.
Last time I changed early I had to open a ticket to get the reward.

Changing early to your renewal will delay your rewards being credited by 48 hours so you will pay full price now but have the credited rewards apply towards your next renewal ($5 in 48 hrs + $5 at renewal=$10). Keep in mind if you choose the $40/60GB plan you not only get the extra 10GB but unlimited throttled data (512kbps) after you use up the plan data at about 225+mbps compared to 100mbps with the 4G speed plan for $1 more?

I'm out of data with one week to go before bill date but changing subscription plans before renewal seems to mess up reward payment; that's the issue.

Right, thanks.
There is a 50 gig plan promoted as 4g for $39 and I plan to switch to that one as 50 is more than enough.
The only thing left to decide is whether to make it effective now or on renewal (which is in 1 week). Thanks.

My son has the $34 for 40gb 5G from Black Friday and he does not have a 5G phone. He just gets the higher speed limit of the 5G plans.

Oh OK. So get the 60 gig plan promoed as a " 5g plan" and use the 60 gigs @ 4g.

That was my main question. Will I lose my current loyalty reward in the process of switching. Is the default to switch you to points, or is the default to remain on loyalty dollar awards? Didn't want to do do "change subscription" transaction and get a surprise after the fact.
I will mark your reply as the accepted answer.
However bonus question.
If I make it effective now and change my billing cycle do I lose my reward for the month? Will I have to open a ticket to get it paid?
I changed my billing cycle once before and it was a bit of a hassle to get the $ reward credited even though the CS Agents are quite responsive and prompt in my experience at least.
It is a 5G speed plan but does not need 5G connectivity to use it. All plans have access to 5G/4G/3G networks.

No catch just a new plan. Maybe spend an extra buck and get 60GB? Rewards stay the same as long as you don't switch to points in your rewards account. (DON'T!)😀 of course once you switch you can't go back on either the plan or the rewards program.
Edit: The 60GB plan is 5G speed and unlimited throttled data at 512kbps after you use up the 60GB.

HI @Nick_II
just cheaper because of promo. Take advantage of great deal before it is too late. Use Change on Renewal to schedule a plan change
