Shopping for the best Plan
I am looking around and know Public Mobile is a decent option. I was looking at creating your own plan option and am trying to rectify why the 90-day option is substantially more expensive than the 30-day plan option.
For example: Chose the 30-day plan option, Cdn wide, Int txts, and 3 GB on 4G = $57
Chose the 90-day plan option (but with the 6GB/90 day) = 150
What on earth is the 90-day plan for if it is going to cost substantially more? I also chose the 3GB/90 day option and is still more expensive at $135
Please explain this shenanigan.

after math, go to cheap plan.
it is a best way.
once a while 90 days plan is a little bit cheaper.
but sometime 30 days plan is cheaper because of the promotion.
go to cheap plan.

Remember the 90 day plan is based on your usage over 90 days, and your payments made every 90 days (or every 3 months). Once you hit your data limit within the 90 days tehn you'll be locked from using that service until the plan renews after the 90th day, or you ask for an extension from a moderator.
So $150/3 is $50. Please keep in mind the prices you see posted does not include tax, so remember to add that in to truly get the full amount owed.

@jksr, you should take a look at the ready made plans. There is currently a promotional plan with 4.5 GB (@3G speed) for $40. This includes texts and canada wide calling. If you don't absolutely need LTE speeds (and most people don't), it would be much less expencive.

Yes it's 3Gb for 90 days. Not 3 per 30 days

@jksr Correct. Data quoted for 90 day plans is for the whole 90 days. You get it all up front to use as you wish over the 90 day term. Which can be kinda nice depending on how you use your data.

Just to confirm, if I were to choose the 3GB/90, that is 3GB for the whole 3 mths and not 3 a month eh? I think that is why I was a bit more confused at the 30 vs 90 day plans.
B/c if that is the case, I'm saving $6 over 3 months only. Savings nonetheless, but as you pointed out, not a huge incentive.
To summarise what I calculated: 30day (3 GB for $57) vs 90 day (9GB for $165)
Hoping my calculations are correct.

@jksr, don't forget the referral bonus. If you enter a PM customer's phone number during registration as a referrer, you get a $10 account credit, and the referrer gets a $1/mth credit as long as you stay with PM.

Very sorry, in my mind I kept seeing the 90 days as 2 months and not 3. It does make more sense now.
07-23-2018 06:29 PM
@jksr- are you saying that 150 is more expensive that 171?
07-23-2018 06:29 PM
But, it is more expensive.
07-23-2018 06:24 PM
@jksr, how is 150 substantially more than 3x57 = 171. Did I miss something? That being said, PM rolled back prices on many 30 day plans a few months ago, and thus the 90 day plans are not as interesting. The main advantage of 90 days is that you can distribute the data usage over 90 days.

Please note that the cost of the 90 day plan is for all 90 days so you get charge the amount now and don't pay again for 90 days. The 30 day plans are charged ever 30 days (More like a typical phone provider)
