How long is the 4.5gb promotion, and will it auto renew?

I just heard about the 4.5gb plan for $40 today, and wanted to take advantage of it. I went into Walmart to pick up a sim, and the guy mentioned that after 30 days it would revert to the previous plan, which is 2gb for $40. I wanted to check if that was actually true.

Also, if I order the sim card online am I running the risk of missing out on the promotion? How long does this promotion go for?

Thanks,

I think what the guy meant by "after 30 days," was that if there were no promos applied, you'd normally get 2GB of data for $40. If you sign up for the 4.5GB plan for $40, that's the price you'll pay until you decide to change your plan or cease from being a Public Mobile customer.

As for how long the 4.5GB promotion will run for... I don't think they've announced that (but I could be wrong). Usually getting a SIM mailed to you is fairly quick. Just for a reference, the extra 500 MB of data promo has been running for quite a few weeks now... at least 6 weeks?!

[ edit ] the 500MB bonus has been running since May 7th... so make that 11 weeks!  This is the 2nd time the 4.5GB for $40 plan has showed up. PM brought it back to match a Freedom Mobile promo.

@JeremyMac, You were given incorrect information at Walmart.  Your plan would not change when it renews.  It will stay the same as long as you don't change the plan - unless Public Mobile decides to raise the price.  However, price increases are verry rare.  You can check out some of the posts from earlier this year about an attempted price increase.  Not likely, but with PM's legal rights.

Not true if you purchase the plan you are on that plan. It's a limited time offer to sign up but once your on it your on it.

Yes, ordering sim online you do have that risk
