Recently Public Mobile gave me 240 GB of free bonus data. I switched to a cheaper plan so that I would be using more of the free data, but now that my regular plans data has run out, it seems I no longer have access to the gift data. Should I have expected this?

I think this is a shameful practice. I did not make the association between the bonus data and the rewards to points change. I never would have thought of reading the FAQ from the rewards to points bonus loyalty data.
I never saw this fine print and was not aware of the policy when I made my decision. This lack of clarity is just unfortunate as I will now be forced to have no data for a month or pay twice in the same month for two different plans all while being switched over to the new point system.
Severely dissapointed.

I too moved to a cheaper plan. No warning was sent to me about this. Absolutely disgusted by public mobile heading the conditions if this free gift. Now I have to pay extra to get data for the rest of the month on 2 phones. Or maybe I should take my business elsewhere.

The below notice is a pop up window when you sign on your account, read word by word there is nothing mention you can't switch your month plan:
WE'RE MOVING TO PUBLIC POINTS Starting May 2024, we're retiring our old Rewards program and moving all subscribers to our Public Points™ program. To thank you for your continued loyalty, we're giving you a special data bonus. We'll send you a text message when your special bonus has been added to your account.
so now they refuse to add 240GB to my account after I switch my plan to a lower plan!
My account now is stocked with no internet no 240GB reward and also forced to accept points reward program!!!!
As a client, no one really read FAQ or contact service agent just for getting that 240GB before they switch their plan. I am very disappointed for how they deal with us!

From the rewards to points FAQ: "The bonus data will remain active unless your account becomes inactive, you switch to a plan of lower value or to an incompatible plan."

Sam, I am facing the exact same scenario. I downgraded to a $15.00 plan now that bonus data is gone...

@Sam100 - Yeah, the fine print says that if you go to a plan of a lower price you will lose your 240GB of data.
