I'm trying to change my subscription to the $20/month one. But, it doesn't show up in my options. Why not?

you could just get a new sim to start a new account...but you couldn't keep your current cell number. That way, you'd have options only available to new customers starting new accounts.
Log in to your Public Mobile account and disable Subscribed (autopay)...then that account will eventually just be deactivated. BUT....like I said....you won't be able to keep your current number if you start a new account this way.

Thank you for your help. Unfortunately not. I only have access to 7 plans, beginning at $27/month.
My husband has a lot more options. I barely use this phone, so was hoping to lower the price...

It's purely a business decision made by Public Mobile. In your account, do you have access to a $57 plan? The $57 plan lasts for 90 days and includes 9GB of data total over those 90 days. Spread out over 90 days, the $57 plan is less expensive than the 30-day $20 plan.

Total rip-off.

Sorry, but existing customers can only choose from the plans listed in their self service accounts. Public Mobile targets specific plans to specific customers.
