HI there,
I just encouraged my friend about a month ago to sign up with Public instead of his provider, changed his number too so it would be a local number. Then, when trying to sign up for doordash, that website says he has a number that is out of town & long distance. How would this have happened?

Which are is your friend living? What are the first six digits of the phone number? You can check online what the local area by looking at the first six digits.
Sometimes newer area codes are not updated by online companies.

Why doordash care local number or not? They deliver anywhere and you don't have to be "home" for them to deliver to you

You'll need to take this up with DoorDash as this isn't a Public Mobile issue. For someone reason, DoorDash sees the number as being invalid and the system isn't accepting it.
