Verification codes coming in too late

Bank verification codes coming from 6 digit number take way too long to come in. They become impossible to use

try reboot phone and Reset network settings. 

if you are using Android, clear app cache on your Message app.  Or if still does not work, uninstall Google Message, reboot and Reinstall Google Message
