This phone pretty much solves this issue. I would consider it if a phones camera wasn't a deal breaker for me. I am considering it for the bf since he's a phonebreaker.....easy to obtain parts and repair yourself. He managed to seriously fracture his Sonim xp8's screen but getting replacement parts is difficult outside of an official repair shop.

There are certain things that you can do yourself, I have fixed some stuff on my own including changing the screen. The good thing these days that we have youtube to help us, there are so many how to videos on same subject and same device for that matter.
Do you really think that the people working in most of these shops went to a trade school for these types of repair, most of the time they start off by just youtubing it and then eventually they know what to do and it just becomes repetitive.

In many cases, it is even possible to repair the smartphone yourself. You can find related instructions on the internet. By the way, ordering smartphone spare parts is not a problem either.
