"My Phone" field in My Settings

Exactly what it says.  A text box where members can describe which phone model(s) they have.

Not a worldshaking idea, but it might be helpful if PM members (and PM staff) can see this info on "About" pages.  At least we wouldn't need to constantly ask "what device do you have?" in response to problems about phones, lol.

I would @srlawren This would save everyone time. Lol, if they could add a way to make it, when signing up, a requirement to input your phone model, or autodetect it by IMEI/Spying? like some companies are able to do, somehow, then there's got to be a way for you guys to. If it's expensive then this suggestion would come in handy as a way for people who sign up to just be required to put in their phone model. That way, as the OP said, Customer Support wouldn't have to ask every time, it would show up on user info. Lol, it takes them 24-72 hours to respond. Not bad, but not great. If their first response is, "What's your phone model?" then that's a waste of both the customers time and the companies time when that can just be avoided using this suggestion. 🙂

A simple text field would be very simple to implement. An IMEI-lookup might be more difficult (or costly), and might not always report accurate results anyhow. I do think it should be completely voluntary - enter whatever information you like, or do not enter information if you like. There will always be people who won't want their privacy invaded, who would prefer to not reveal anything about themselves (or their phones) online, who are suspicious about PM's privacy-of-information agreements (or are just fearful of hackers, spammers, and marketing teams somehow procuring online information from PM), regardless whether the information is accessible only by PM staff or by the entire PM community.
