Has Public Mobile ever considered pay-per-use rate that Public Mobile customers can  use their phone outside of coverage area.

For example, if I go to the State's for the day I would like to see a  pay-per-use rate.  What I mean is  instead of buying a 10 day package I would like to see a section where I can add money/extra funds to my account (separate from my monthly bill) for example, lets call it  pay-per-use rate or prepaid service so when a I or other Public Mobile customer goes to the State's just for the day they can use their phones to make recieve a call or text and use data and get charged for the minutes they use.

@Someone_here so, basically prepaid Roam Like Home?  Buy the add-ons in advance, 1 day at a time, and have them auto-activate when you connect to a US tower?  Yep that would be great for short trips like yours or for weekenders like myself.

Or maybe PM could sell pay per use cards that could be used for roaming.

@srlawren yes exactly.

I would definitely use it, and give PM my money, instead of not using it at all as it is now 😉

I think $2/day for talk OR text, $3/day for talk and&text, and $4/day for talk,text& data would be good and fair prices...?

You know, when you consider that just a year ago, there was literally NO roaming option for the US, I guess we are lucky to at least have the 10 day offerings.  But yes, more flexiblity would be great.  Whatever form it comes in, here's my rough high-level requirements:

1) ability to pre-purchase and schedule it to activate at a later date (for the pre-planners among us!)

2) more flexible for shorter duration trips, just buy what you really need, or closer to it than 10 day chunks

3) more flexible for longer duration trips--ability to "stack" should effectively come along with requirement #1 above, since you could schedule add on X to start the day after add on X-1 expires and basically chain/stack up enough to last whatever duration trip you plan to take

 EDIT:  @Someone_here sorry I just realized i basically re-listed your requirements from the first page of replies.  LOL.

 @srlawren no problem.

I would only add

4) auto-activation, pretty cool not to have to worry about it as long as you know it's already stacked in your account. (and good for PM as well since they collect your money earlier and there is more chances that people will use it)...

Pay as you go would be best for elderly.

for the advanced purcahse issue, why not smply call the 1800number from the USA to activate it when you  need. That is exatly what i just did  and it worked perfectly.

My ideal method for the usa add-ons would be similar to the current plan picker. pick the number of days ie 3, 7, 14, or even  1-14,  then base then select the other options text yes no and data 100, 250, 500, 1gb.  On my last trip (14days I found 250mb too little(but managed) didnt want to to buy the extra data/ talk for the extra four days i was away)

@mimmo, not a bad idea. 🙂
