Why so much extra for Canada-wide?

I got a special at fido - Canada-wide talk, domestic,US+international texting for $35/ mo.

That works out to $37.00 , if you get a mere 1GB of data added on, for 30 days with the 90day plan...

So, it's pretty close... it would be a done deal for me - if the price matched my $35 talk+text plan only  🙂

You missed out a few key details here and I doubt fido is offering you good stuff for 35$

Public Mobile: For $37 per month on the 90-day-plan you have 1 GB included in your plan (please note the 1GB are for the entire 90-day-term and not per month).

Compared to your mentioned Fido plan of $35 talk + text, that's 1 additional GB for a few bucks more....

That's a plus point for Public Mobile!

Yeah. You get $111 for 90 days or $37/month. You get unlimted canada-wide, unlimited international text and 1GB of data. Please take not that the 1GB is for the whole 90 days. You forgot something that will bring down the cost. You can get a $2 off/month if you pre-authorized your card using Public Mobile's autopay. So, the $37/month will come down to $35/month. It's pretty much what you are paying on Fido. It's much better because you are getting a data.

Also, Public Mobile has loyal perks. What does it do? You get $1off per every year you are with Public Mobile. 1 year = $1 off/month, 2 years = $2 off/month etc etc until 5 years = $5 off/month. 

Fido wouldn't be able to match 🙂

Agree with the posts above, PM for sure offers the best deal for most of us in Canada.. except maybe the residents of Qyebec where they tend to have comparable rates from other carriers.

I would like to add the benefit of being active in the Community.  You get the community reward and one can realistically knock down $2 to $4 per 30 days with a bit of activity here.

I would liek to see canada wide a little cheaper, but it is unlimited.

If you really want canada wide minutes, you could add the 8$ 200 minute top up or the 15$ 400 minute top up and have those.

Those dont expire.

You totally missed the point; you got a "special" at Fido (usually a retention offer)

If you check out current plans, it costs $40 for the basic package PLUS $8 for the features Public includes for no charge

Thats $48 per month

Not sure how this fits in the Lab, lol, but all in all, I think PM still has the absolute best and until something better comes, there is no Country for Old Carriers,BUT there is a Country for Public
