While viewing my usage history I noticed it is all based on eastern time zone.  Can an option be added where you could select your correct time zone so that it is easier (I know it isn't hard to convert time zones) to verify usages.  I know the universe revolves arount TO and Ontario and that everyone else should just get used to that Smiley LOL but would be nice to have this feature for anyone outside of that time zone.

This suggestion would be hard to undertake. To simplify matters, Public Mobile has to select a datum for the start/end of a day. Rightly or wrongly, GMT-5:00 was selected. The alternative would be 5 time zones and 5 different start times depending on where the account was activated. Imagine the problems if someone moves from one province to the other. The people moving eastward are going to be complaining about losing a few hours of plan duration. BTW, many would have been really happy with a GMT-8:00 datum during the November promotion. There would have been 3 extra hours for the last minute shoppers.

@ShawnC13 - fix not needed, just move to Ontario Smiley Tongue.

On a serious note, sounds like it's something that would be good to have...

I'm with @TheOldVR there should just be the one time zone in canada anyways we can call it "Toronto Time".  it's all that really matters anyways, 😄

You Torontonians should really get out more, there's a whole lotta Canada outside of your province!  😉

[Full disclosure:  The first 13 years of my life were in greater Toronto; my remaining 28 in greater Vancouver have been much, much better though!  :)]

That said, I think @will13am has nailed it.  As much as I hate everything being in GMT-5, I don't think it's worth the expense and potential issues of the changes at this point.  Sorry @ShawnC13 😞

@srlawren, you still remember how inhospitable the winters are in the GTA?  If the winters were as mild as that of the left coast, we'd be outdoors a lot more.  I tried my level best to keep the discussion geography neutral so as not to invoke anger.  If there is so much hate for certain parts of the country, maybe we should lobby to use GMT as the datum.

haha overall no hate for anywhere else in this great country! what is there not to like?  just a little coast to coast rivalry.

No hate.... I think everyone was just joking around. (At least I know I was...)

We all love left Toronto including Vancouver.... and we love right Toronto all the way out to PEI and Newfoundland!  Oh Toronto Smiley Very Happy!!

Happy Thursday everyone!

Why do we need different time zones anywhere?  I've been saying for years, if it's 12:00 noon at Greenwich England, it should be 12:00 noon everywhere.   And by noon, I really mean PM.

If everyone would adopt the same time for the day, there'd be no need to worry about converting time zones.  If you have business through out the world, you'd have lists of "business hours" for each office.  Toronto 13:00 - 22:00, Vancouver 16:00 - 01:00, London England 08:00 - 19:00.

No more asking what time is it in the Europe office.. just an are they open now?

Of course, I'm a database guy, I'm totally guilty of being selfish on this, as I prefer UTC for everything.  If a program wants "local" time, they can convert to and from my data.
