I recently asked about porting in a second line to my PM account and was surprised to discover this isn't supported. Apparently I'm not the first to ask for this either, however it was suggested that I post this here for consideration.
yes thats correct right now u can have a bunch of pm accounts but each has to have their own email address. as for the port in i believe your also correct on that one as well.
yes hopefully this can happen in the future but as of right now no
So I was able to successfully complete the following today:
1 - Port-in mobile number from other service provider to a newly registered PM account (using a different email).
2 - Re-link my PM community profile to the new PM account.
Am now maintaining 2 unique PM mobile accounts. I was considering porting out the old PM number but have since changed my mind and will keep both lines active with PM.
If PM ever upgrades their back-end services to support multiple-lines (one account), I'll be ready for it.
I am so glad that everything worked out for you. I am sure when the time comes and the system is updated and they can help you merge them together but glad everything else worked out for you.
I agree that we need to be able to have multiple lines under 1 PM email address/account number. Public Mobile should also have a discount system whereby for each account you get an extra dollar for each account you have, up to $5/line per account and you can only have up to 5 lines per account. Similar to how WIND does their discounting when you have a group of numbers.
I think this is another great way to incentivize people to come over to Public Mobile and offer something unique.
I'm not on PM yet, but considering switching over. It would be great if PM supports multiple lines in one account (and even being able to pay for each line separately, ex. with different credit cards). This would be very useful for families that are moving over but would like ease of management.
Thanks for your idea! Our current customer base is too small to support this development. It requires significant investment in capabilities that we currently do not have. As we continue to grow, we will re-evaluate this idea.
