something is definitely wrong with the service when my incoming calls are not put through?

People keep telling me that when they call my cell phone, they are put straight through to the messaging service.. My phone doesn't ring me for these calls.. They are people from Canada and from the US who are trying to call me and are not getting through?

Did you port a previous cell # to Public Mobile?

For the purposes of billing and your incoming calls, it doesn't actually make any difference which country is calling you from.

 

By any chance is your line a new activation?  If it is a new activation and you have transfered your phone number from another carrier to Public Mobile, it is quite possible that the number transfer hasn't gone through yet.  If that's the case, and you've removed the sim card from your old cell carrier, people calling you would be sent straight to voicemail until the phone number to transfer to Public Mobile is complete.

 

If not...

 

Check to see if is there is a particular pattern on where this happens (physical/geographical) location to isolate any possible problem with the actual cell phone tower near your.

 

or

 

If the problem only happens when some of your callers call you, check to see if it is from only certain cell providers (ie. Bell, Rogers, Telus, Wind, AT&T, etc.).  Sometimes, issues arrise when someone using one phone company calls a customer of a different phone company.

If you just ported your number in, your porting process is not completed. You need to private message a public mobile staff to help tomorrow morning if it's still not working by then.

Are you able to call out?  Are you seeing Public Mobile as your provider on your cell phone? If not, try going to your Phone Settings>Network Settings.  Instead of Auto Selecting the network provider, manually select Public Mobile.  


If this does not work - then it's possible your account was not activated properly.  You will need to contact the Public Mobile Support @Shazia_K@Mary_M.
