Public Mobile Data

I strongly feel there should be a feature where a public mobile subscriber consumes all the data limit for the current month, he should not be disconnected from data, rather a slow speed data should be provided.

For example I am on a 30 day plan with unlimited provincial talk text and data, on 25th day I consumed all my data, next 5 days remaining in the month dont disconnect data, just give a slow speed data.

PM has already stated its not for them. Plus, they say it can affect fees, and even then, they don't have capacity to do that

Naw i like the data cutoff.  Thats one reason i changed over.  Nothing worse than getting the double rogers bill cause i went over 10 mbs!

yes the data cut off still there, after data cutoff, provide a free data for the rest of the month at a slow speed.

I don't think that's good, Look what's happening to the smaller carriers that are doing that?

i dont think that is a good idea.. if you want something like that, you either need to join Wind or Chatr or a similar company. This is because their network is a lot smaller, possibly cheaper and a lot slower.. and they have less subscribers. And with the amount of people on the Telus network, it could slow it down even more with all of the traffic. 

You just need to better manage data. Plus in most major cities there are Wifi hot spots everywhere. Wifi is becoming increasingly more available everywhere. Tim Hortons and McDonalds have free wifi too for example. I use data hungry apps (YouTube, Streaming music) while on wifi. I see no real use for them using 90% of my data.

As @makkahn28 pointed out, the idea has already been rejected by PM.

I agree with those about data being cut when you run out, its also part of the reason I choose PM. Its a matter of management, such as time management, something we all must use wisely.

Also when people use those services that force downward data speeds when running out on your data package it tends to bring people to complain about the "SLOW" network speed and in some cases just makes a good situation look bad.

All in all, either pay attention to your data consumption or simply move to higher threshold.
