Here's an Idea that I believe should be taken much more seriously.

When it comes to buying your new Handset, PPL have such a tough time in places to buy.

Carrier stores Don't sell directly to Public base, just clientele of Their Respective carrier, like Koodo/Telus, Bell/Virgin, Rogers/Fido.

Walmart, Future Shop/Best Buy have Carrier Contracts and Clauses that prevent them from selling handsets, Moto G LTE, Nexus 4/5/6, Moto X 2nd Gen, Alcatel Icon Pop +, ZTE Grand X + for example, and Walmart, Future Shop/Best Buy Prepaid selection for general Public is almost like leftovers, hardly any Meat on the Bone.

If Public Mobile is creating a Super Duper, Data Charged, LTE, All services thingy, a Handset must be built to accommodate the mission ahead. Prepaid Phones don't 100% have impressive spects to muster out the duties we expect. And if we wanted a Moto X 2 Gen, Nexus 6, Etc, places where we as non clients of Telus Mobility, or ZTE Grand X +, Rogers, well how and where do we go to buy our dream phones is really something that should be addressed, Either Directly from Manufacturer, online, Whatever sources available.

What I meant by Walmart, Best Buy/Future Shop having carrier contracts and clauses is that for most handsets, they are not permitted to sell to non clients of carrier handset is locked to, at Carrier stores, prepaid even is treated same, so that means cost of phone, + Sim + Plan, and all that nonsense. If purchasing directly from source for immediate use on PM's HSPA+4G Network is cheaper, why not? Telus and Koo should allow PM Clients access to all of the Handsets available, we're paying, why the obstacle course? Handsets are considered just as much an investment, like buying a Car or House, Treat it as such. Remove the Road Blocks. As a famous saying goes: Mr. Tel Us All, Tear down this wall. I think Telus would see greater mass of PPL flocking to Public Mobile, as long as The Price is Right, Services and features cover all aspects, leaving no stone unturned, flexibility, and you have a recipe for perfection, And of Course Performance, FCA Style

Plus, If PPL use their phones to take photos and stuff, Handsets with a Decent Cam Megapixel, plus Flash, can create long term memories. Or if PPL use Skype, Front Cam Specs and Microphone and speaker quality can assist in providing a more pleasurable experience

For Nexus devices, the best source is usually direct from Google (play.google.com). This will get you their most current phone (currently Nexus 6). If purchasing used phones, people should be wary as discussed in other topics and ensure the phone they are purchasing is not "black listed" and is not locked to a carrier outside of Telus (Telus/Koodo/etc).

Thanks. Kijiji, I wouldn't even try. Ebay and Amazon, they do have stricter guidelines, but really, Google.com? How's that possible? Google play? How does one buy a Moto G, Moto G LTE, Moto X 2nd Gen, or Nexus 6 from Google playstore? Very Intriguing. Plus, how to pick correct model? Not all moto G or Moto X 2nd gen are 110%compatible

Meaning, some have different frequencies, so one must choose carefully. 3G HSPA+4G, Different frequencies, each carrier has their own set of Frequencies, so how does one get the absolute correct model? Take moto G, there's like 5 Different Moto G models, excluding LTE version

So, if Tel Us has 850 and 1900 MHZ range, Bell has 900 and 1850 MHZ range example, get wrong model, and poof, some compatibility issues. That's what I hate about BYOD, Many models, never sure whiCH one will be correct pne

To ensure compatibility with PM, ensure that the 3G frequencies are 850MHz and 1900MHz. For 4G, they are 1700MHz and 2100MHz. If the phone is locked to Telus, that's okay as Telus, Koodo and PM share the same network.

I know that. But 3G and 4G have a wide range of Frequencies, Handsets don't have all of them programmed, so choosing a handset is very risky, unless you specifically tell merchant and ensure correct model is purchased. Otherwise, returns are impossible, and costly as to where one has to buy another handset. Its a costly exhibition.

Telus only supports 4 frequencies altogether, 3G and 4G LTE, but there are more than 4 Frequency types. That's what makes this even harder. Not as simple as 123

3G may have 10 Frequencies, example 800, 850, 900, 950 and so forth, and Telus only supports 2 of the 10 example. That's the thing, Ensuring device covers as much pf that frequency base as possible.
