Public Mobile should allow users to exceed posted data limits. If you have 1GB then once you have used up your 1GB you should not simply get cut off. Reduce speed so clients can still do important things when data is required.

When Public Mobile first launched in the old old days they had true unlimited data. No slow downs like other carriers, no hidden maximum use etc. When Telus first bought Public they changed all the old unlimited accounts to maximum data use.

The reason this becomes important is other carriers like Wind, Mobilicity & Chatr all allow users to get access to slower data once their high speed data has been used. Public (& Koodo) are not yet offering this but I think it would be very popular with users.

Hello @kav2001c

The idea is being discussed in this Thread:

Maybe you could give it a bravo to make it more visible 🙂

Thank you,

To be honest @kav2001c, I don't see PM making this change any time soon, as I don't think it fits in with their pre-paid model.  You do know that you can purchase data add-ons (at admittedly a rather expensive price) to continue/resume your [full-speed] data usage if you exceed your cycle allocation, right?

I couldn't agree more.... not sure why on value brands like pm can't do this.   It's fair... and controls abuse... prepaid or post paid it's do able.    Full speed to a limit... slowed after or pay more for more full speed.
