Hi, I'm hoping to port my current Rogers home phone to a new Public Mobile account. When I do the port, does it just forward the calls to my Public Mobile number? Or does my Pulblic Mobile account then change to my old landline number?
Thanks!

Yes. You can call out with your landline number almost right away. Not unitl your landline provider release your number to PM, all incoming call will continue to be delivered to your landline phone.

Porting landline number takes up to 1 week.
FYI:
Number porting is a 2 stage process:
Stage 1. After submitted your porting request, PM set up your old number on your PM account. Login to your account. Select the [Plan and Add-Ons] tab. Is your old number showing on the [Plan and Add-Ons] display?
If yes, PM has done its work to setup your old number for you to call out, send text and data.
Stage 2. Now, you are waiting for your old provider to release you number to PM. Not until your old provider release your number, all the incoming calls and texts will continue to go to your old provider.

No, that would be Call Forwarding. You would need to maintain both accounts in that case.

Yes
Thanks!
If you make a port request, your old Rogers number wll be moved to your PM account and your old Rogers account will then be closed automatically.
Btw both accounts must be active when you request a number port.
Do take note that ports from a landline can take anywhere from 2 days up to 2 weeks to complete.
